Thursday run

RUN: 6.5 miles in 58 mins. We promised we'd slow down, and we did. All of 4 minutes or so. Didn't feel too tired from the ride. As my head hit the pillow last night I was sure I'd be suffering.

All the chatter is about the upcoming marathon--next Sunday!! Five in our group are going 26.2, 4 in the STL race and 1 in an IL race. We slowed today as part of the taper process, which by the way is in full swing for me. I'm very energetic, I want to run anywhere and everywhere, and I'm SO HUNGRY!

It seems I'm eating all the time! For the last 2 days, lunch is but a drop in the bucket of my stomach. I'm at the nearby bookstore buying 500-600 calories of bars and nuts to tide me over. Last night I had 2 dinners, this morning almost 2 breakfasts. Oh num-num-num, all food is so good!! So today, I've increased the fats in my diet--coconut oil by the spoonful and basil pesto on my veggies and potatoes and eggs. So far, so good. I haven't ravaged the bookstore snack aisle yet today. But now that I think about it...
