BIKE: 21 miles in about 1hr 20 mins. Only now have I set the AutoPause feature on the new garmin so that it stops the time at stoplights. This was the usual summer Weds ride out of F Park and up towards Maryland Hts. This is our 'quality' ride, we are ABP. Always Be Pushing. So the 3 of us struck out with a sweet tailwind, and came home in a strong headwind, but still posted some great speeds between stoplights.
This was my first fast outdoor ride this year, what do I need to work on, especially with racing and the time trial series coming up? 1) I was OK for hard intervals but only at short distances, so get in some more >80% intervals. 2) Drinking water in the pack was poor, I need to get practice on grabbing the bottle and not wobbling. 3) Holding a line in-aero, I weaved a bit with the pedal strokes. For the most part, these are normal early-season problems to have. I just need to get outdoors on the bike!
