Monday long swim

SWIM: 3300y in 1hr 26 mins. (1.875 miles). WU=300 swim, 100 kick, 200 pull, then 8x50 as 25 easy/ 25 hard. MS: 15x100y (10s rest) track entire time = 33 minutes. Then 1x500 at 75% to extend aerobic time. CD=4x75 free.

Wasn't Masters swim, I couldnt fall asleep until 11pm and when the alarm went off at 4:15am it didn't take long to do the math: just over 5 hrs of sleep! Nope, uh uh, sorry charlie, I went back to bed. In the end, I slept 7.5 hrs and woke up rested.

15x100 sounds like a lot of swimming, but I broke it up in my head into 3x (5x100) and it seemed easier. I'm supposed to calculate my 100y time for this as mins/100y. So 33/15=2m12s minutes/100y, including the rest intervals. But that's 2.5 minutes of rest! Re-doing the calculation (because I'll feel faster with the new number) I get 2min/100y. Um, well, whatever.

Of interest, an Olympic distance swim is 0.932 miles or 1500m. Some more calculating here...1500m = 1640 yards. At todays pace, 2min sx 16.4=33 minutes. Still not terribly fast, but considering that my usual Olympic race time in a lake is >35 minutes I am seeing some improvement.

mmmmm...Peanut Butter with Honey..... :)
