RUN 6.6 miles in 62 mins, with EW
No commute to due heavy rains
Lots of storms last night and they carried over into today. I wasn't really paying attention to the forecast so this was a pleasant surprise. The quad muscle is OK walking and running, just not OK when I stretch it like in a deep squat. The right knee is still pained, getting better, but still painful to bend. Also wearing something like jeans seems to hurt.
But for today's run, both were OK. Mild knee pain is all. EW and I were the back of the pack, separated by Skinker Hill from the main group. Between tapering and hurting, I did not need a speedy run today. So this was perfect. Love chatting with EW, she's so sweet and honest. We talked about her trip to Monte Carlo (Moroccan food!), a church group she socializes with, and my life drama. She suggested the group for me, I'm interested kinda but not ready yet. She also pointed out that as long as I give control, I'll feel controlled. She really nailed it with that -- said what I've been trying to put to words for the past few days.
The rain started off as a quiet mist and progressed to a nice rain by the time we finished. Sugar didn't want to walk in the rain, so I did what I could to get us home without messing up the truck. Shower, brekkie, still raining and the dog still unhappy. So two short walks for her. I'll get her in the afternoon, the weather is much better right now!
Thought I might be able to ride in until I saw the weather radar map. Nope. Driving. So a quick trip to Aldi to get Kombucha tea, eggs, and blueberries, then a soggy walk in from FoPa to work. Thankfully I keep extra clothes at work!
