Zoomies in TGP

RIDE 1:22 and 20.4 miles
BIKE COMMUTE 9.2 miles

#1: 16:56  16.6 ave speed, ave HR 128
#2  16:33  17.0 mph, 133 bpm
#3  15:14!!! 18.3 mph, 145 bpm

I think that might be a Monday ride PR!? And funny thing too I looked at the max speed, even if it's only a few seconds it's still a max speed. The max speed on the ride was 24.6 -- but it was on my ride into the park! I sprinted to hit the green at Grand and Arsenal, haha! In-ride our max was 24.2 in the third loop.

So are we just slacking like master class slackers on our other loops?!

Woke up to tired legs, a little bit of sore in the quads still from Saturday's run. But nothing a few mins of walking didn't shake out. Great morning for the ride, some beautiful sun coming up but still behind the pink and orange and yellow clouds, no wind, potential for rain on the west. I should mention that the past few weeks as I cross Gravois at Arsenal on the way to Monday and Tuesday training the sun has been perfectly aligned over Gravois. Like if you could ride Gravois all morning you'd ride to the sun. Excepting the sun would move...

I get there a bit early, jamming to Invincible, ride a few loops to keep the tires warm, and BE shows up. Right as he rides up I see a rainbow over the bandstand pavilion. Nice! He's tired from being up late for a drum core (is that the right word?) (no hahahahaha it's drum corps) in Belleville IL. The first loop was chatting about his last 5 nights of being out for theater, etc. One night was a tribute to Queen! Hey! I know who that is! I should tell SO. I can hear the eyeroll across StL already.

Second loop still chatting, but a bit less. What'd we talk about ... I dunno.

Third loop, no talking. No lung for it. We set a goal of a fast loop and we did it! Ooh my heart rate a bit high, lol, but I rarely ride this in the drops and we don't draft off each other so this was a great effort. Although BE did draft a few seconds and asked if I could flare my shoulders out more to help him, ha!

Whew! Great ride. Bike commute in wasn't a suffer like it sometimes is after this ride. It's a bit cooler out, I think rain coming in. Yup, sure enough it's raining by 10am. Nice!
