Wet winter clothes and their distinct...odor...

RUN IN: 50 mins and 5 miles
RUN HOME: 5 miles, total of 1:37 so ... 47 mins

Wow, from 75F degrees two weekends ago, to 33F and blowing snow! This snow fell overnight -- more of a slush really. The warm ground, warm temps, wet conditions all added up to a few inches of mostly splashy slush to run in.

And can you believe that just last night I washed my Greenrock muddy-shitty Cascadias?! The best shoes for this weather?! I could have cleaned them this morning! My Adrenalines needed cleaning too, they were muddy from....huh...not sure...last Thursday?

Regardless.

I put the RunWarm covers on the Adrenalines and headed out. Just my luck, I'm running northwest and the 20+ mph winds are coming from the northwest. So I should have a tailwind to look forward to. And warmer temps. And drier streets.

Oh but overall it was a great run in to work. Once I got over my feet getting wet at every curb and intersection, and especially at mile 4.9 when I took my sunglasses off and was able to see without condensation and raindrops on them! Sadly my clothes most certainly won't be dry for the run home. But they will smell!! What is that smell anyway? Lemme google it...nothing found. Oh well.

The snow was 98% gone and the streets dry for the run home. And my wet socks and shoes weren't bad at all. I got to enjoy a tailwind!! My reward for putting up with it this morning :) In fact, I had to stop about halfway home to pull off my purple wind shell because I was getting too warm.

This felt good, getting good with the nutrition on these two-a-days, and I'm getting used to the distance. The first few run commutes I had "3 miles" in my head and this new route just seemed so much longer.

More TJM podcast, gawds I love listening to them.
