RUN 6.6 miles in 59 mins
No bike, too much slick snow on the streets
Big mileage week, I think really the first one for this training cycle. And as usual, the Thursday run feels better than I expect it will coming right after speed work and a two-a-day commute.
And my hand warmers survived, love that! 21F out there so they were greatly appreciated. I need to use these more often.
CS emailed about doing another trail run in the snow, but apparently no one wanted to join him. Or they did and because they were in the 1st pack I didn't see it. Ran in the 2nd pack with BE and IT. BE talked about his Lenten 24-hr fasting goal, I talked about my gluten challenge, discussion also included superbowl commercials, oh lots of things as usual. Wisconsin-Devin caught up with us right at the end, with no gloves! And here I'm running with hand warmers and two pairs of gloves. As we passed through the visitor's center, we saw some "free to anyone" John Deere calendars and we all took one. All except IT, I joked that he must be a CaseIH fan. Ha! He was wearing a red jacket....!
I'll be taking the rest interval until Saturday as best I can. My body is feeling good but I want to get some good distance this weekend, the goal for me is 20 but TV looking for 15. We can make it all happen. The gluten challenge is wearing on me, as I sit here my gut is blurby. My back and shoulder need the rest too, it feels as if my home PT exercises aren't progressing, but I'll bet they are. It's just that I measure day by day, hard to see incremental progress. But things are tight, sometimes really uncomfortable in my back.
