BIKE: 24.2 miles of hills in 1:33
What a busy day! First the swim at WH. I had to open the pool anyway, and what a perfect opportunity to get the 3rd swim of the week finished. The workout was broken up into smaller intervals. This worked for me, it prevented the usual boredom.
I felt really slow though. I focused on proper form--grabbing the anchor in the water and launching forward. Sometimes I'd feel it, sometimes I wouldn't. Actually most of the time I wouldnt but this was still a good swim in terms of focus and drive. I'd have to say this was my best swim since CE.
But the 100's seemed slow. Most all over 1 minute, some upwards of 1:05 and 1:10. Why so slow? I was also swimming crooked to the right. Haha, my laps were probably 26y+26y and that's why things were so slow!
Then off to NT, a few hours there then off to Babler for some hills! It was HOT out again, but BSP is shaded so I expected that would help. It did. The goal was 10 hills alternating the effort on odds and evens. I drove the lap to preview it, I'd actually never seen the entire loop! It was a mix of curves, big hills, little hills. It would be hard to do just 10.
So my goals--alternate hard and efficient efforts on the big hills, go easy on the little hills and flats to recover, and keep an even time for each loop. The first loop was in 17-18 mins and I held that pace in the 1st 3 laps. In the 4th I reversed the direction and found myself wearing out. Suddenly the hills weren't as tasty :) That's when I realized I was done. I debated my options. I could finish the last and 6th lap at 1:40 but then I'd still need a CD. Or I could make the 5th lap short and include a CD. Which one would benefit me more? I opted for the latter, I was already over hours. Maybe next week I'll get the 6 laps.
The planned hours for the week was 10:15, and I did 13:47. Way over goal! I wonder how bad that is? My Friday rest day felt like it never happened. Last week went by so fast! And this week will too, I have LOTS to do.

RUN 16.88 miles in 2.53 hrs, again a moved workout makes this look low.
