Half Mary for the WIN!

RUN 13.1 miles in 2:12, 10:04 m/m

Ave HR 142
Ave cad 172

WOW, this was a major benchmark for me. It was supposed to be a 12 mile run, that I thought might turn into a 10-12 based on my fatigue the days before. But nope nope nope. I also thought I'd run this on a trail, yearning for some Lost Valley, but decided an alternating weekend plan of trail/nottrail would be a good ramp up strategy. Besides, I'm not sure I could do 10-12 on a trail yet. Last weekend's "10 miler" on Greenrock as evidence for that.

It was also supposed to rain later in the morning, but it never really did for my run. A few sprinkles, that's about it. So optimal running weather.

I picked FoPa for it's 6-mile path (under construction so our Thursday runs have been 6.1) and because I could run it both directions,  have facility support, and could drop out if I needed to. But nope nope nope. In fact, once I realized I was coming in close to 13 due to some overages I kept going. Then kept going to 13.1 just because.

Carried the Camelbak handheld, emptied only twice. Ate maybe half a gel. Not much! Not enough?

No sharp chest pain, no other body pain except that spot in my left shoulder/back that Dr L worked on. A painful burning pinpoint of pain. Oof.

Felt great, awesome, and the rest of the day went good. Sometimes after a run I'm too mentally wiped to run errands, but today went to HD for tomato plants and garden flowers. Spent my $50 gift card from work, the bill came to $50.08 so all my plants only cost 8 cents. Three of the dianthus flowers I got were inspired by the garden in front of the FoPa VC. Bright pink on long stems. Bring in the h-birds and b-flys!

I had a great day, and around 830am SO texts that he's done with his 100 mile ride. Ugh, jealous. Not of getting up at 3am to get that done, but of being able to ride that far. Soon.
