BIKE: 18 miles in 1hr. 3x8’ (2’) at 145-155HR
RUN: 2.5 miles in 22 mins. Did 1.75 in 15 mins at 8:34m/m. In Kinvaras.
Another great brick run! I love being warmed up right out the door, and I love knowing it’s only 20 mins and I can push harder. Although last Thursday’s 6.5 miler was faster... Either way, I'm feeling strong off the bike. This is good for my upcoming Oly, not this coming weekend but the next!
I finally wore my HR monitor on the bike, and used that to find “hard” effort levels. It also helped to keep me honest, if I started to drift on the effort I could see it happen on the monitor. As for the run, I didn’t catch the HR yet. And the Kinvaras didnt' cause any problems. I had some mild numbness in the toes, but nothing I probably couldnt write off as a bike problem a bit too. I think this is the best workout for me to include the Kinvaras, it's a short run.
Looking back on this later in the afternoon, I wasn’t terribly tired from this. Two observations. Riding inside is not like riding outside, inside is easier. And, it’s only an 80 minute workout.
