RIDE 20 miles in about 1:20, 18:04, 17:20, 17:32
COMMUTE 9.2 miles
EW was gonna join us today, but as per text we received in the second loop she forgot. Next week! As I rode into the park I saw that the main east gate was coned off, then I saw that the west entrance near the band area was too. While I waited for BE I did some cone-weaving as some skills practice. I need more practice. Maybe it was because of the storms a week ago that left many trees damaged, but for some reason they opened the side road gates during our second interval! That's a treat, to not have to weave alongside the gates and run over pedestrians.
BE talked about his latest Amazon buy - a Korean version of Vivien Leigh movies. They sell for super cheap and all you gotta do is switch to the English dub version. Huh, didn't know you could do that! Talked about how he ran TGP over the weekend and realized our bike was a D then and O then a D in terms of shape for the interval. So it's the DOD ride.
He had to cut short at 2 intervals (he only woke up 15 mins before the ride) so the last one I was solo. I went for my headphones, but decided to go "quiet" and I enjoyed it. Had to do a third, I'm obsessive and the gates were open!

In other news, I graduated to the Obsidian League in Duolingo. I set a goal of 200 points/day for last week. But I don't think that is what promoted me, I think I just got put into an easier league because last week the promotion needed waaaay more points and I came out in the middle. Also LA showed me the Coursera option, instead of having to take an online course at the community college. So I started that last night, learned about voiced and unvoiced consonants. Already learned something!

ETA!! I forgot to mention that while riding home from the TGP ride I FINALLY figured out what caused the squeak in my bottom bracket. The was not fixed with oil, was intermittent, and couldn't be replicated on a bike stand. It was my shoe hitting the pedal arm!! HAHA Gotta fix my form.
Also I FINALLY figured out what caused the click-click in the rear wheel when I walked the bike, while at the elevators going into work. It's the plastic pie-plate thing on the rear hub. The reason I felt it only while walking the bike is because that's probably the only time it happens. Otherwise the rotational momentum keeps it from moving that tiny bit up/down to cause a click. Ugh.
