BIKE 30m and 8 miles, indoors due to dark and rain!
Full moon day with late afternoon thunderstorms.
Due to the later sunrise, I have to change up the schedule a bit. Instead of the 6am track run, I started off with a ride indoors. I didn't plan on doing a full hour but it worked out that way with the cloudy skies. So it wasn't until 7:20 or so I started the run. I was warmed up, I guess!
And tired! Geez it seemed like a struggle to get going, both mentally and physically. I'm always "tired" when I start out, then once I'm rolling it's not hard. Today it seemed to take a little longer than usual.
The plan was 2x 1000-600-800-200 with 200 rest between intervals, and 800 between intervals. Once I got going this got easier, but it was another one of those days where the workout seemed overwhelming at first, but that was ALL MENTAL.
Rough times for the 1000's 5:20, 600's 2:40?, 800's 3:30?, 200's 50s. I should look those up. They do matter!
I biked to work with the plan of getting the last 30-40 mins in afterwards. By the time I met up with SM though it was darkening and raining a bit still. Nuts. By the time I got home, it was too dark and so I finished up indoors. Ugh, boring, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
I need to be thinking about coaching. Key questions: what are my goals, can I trust her as a coach, and can I let go of the planning control I'm so used to?
