Return to Running. Version 3.0-something or other

Saturday RUN!! 2.4 miles in 24 mins
Sunday BIKE 60 mins indoors on Bird
Monday RUN 2.6 miles in 26 mins
         COMMUTE 9.5 miles

Long time no post, not for lack of things to say. Thursday 28th saw Dr L and mentioned my left foot injury. For that I was rewarded with a scraping. I wouldn't call it pain. More like a tortuous discomfort. As for my back the lumbar area was curved the wrong way. And he noticed my shoulders not moving, test showed that lifting my arms up to my ears was slow and limited. Overall, things good. Sounds like this is part of a "return to activity" symptom.

Then that Thursday I went home for a weekend, my first since xmas. My left foot was bruised from treatment, but my new Brooks Adrenalines were at the house and they had a treadmill. So I did a 1 hour walk Friday, felt good. Then tried a 1 hour walk with a few mins over running, maybe 60-90 seconds per 5 mins interval, and that felt good too!

Back in St Louis, the weather got too cold to commute so for a whole week I had to drive in. This killed my buzz and I didn't do anything swim, bike, or run. Not even to the gym.

Then this latest Saturday rolls around and I wake up to RAIN and t-storms. So I ran, of course, right? I did my Jeff-Arsenal-Grand-Wyo loop and it felt wonderful!

Lent was this past Wednesday and I think I'm giving up nutrition for Lent. Gonna stop forcing down food because "you should eat". Feeling better for it.

Today's run with the Daylight Savings time change was also wonderful. Same route with an extra couple of tenths by looping the Roosevelt track on time. Now I have group rides and speedworks on the brain. Baby steps, as SO tells me.

I came back after the run feeling a bit off, tried some Noosa yogurt SO brought last night but it didn't stay down. Not sure if it was that, the milk, the whatever. I don't know.
