Run, Ride, Rain

RUN 8.1 miles in 67 mins, 10x600m averaged 6:42 min/mile
RIDE 14 miles in 53 mins, loops in TGP and inbound commute
RAIN ok kidding there, my homebound commute was rained out

I was looking forward to this run! 10x 600 at 85+% sounded like fun. Maybe because 600's sound short? Because 10 doesn't sound like that many intervals? We had lots of rain last night so everything was humid and wet, the sky was pretty with heavy clouds, and the sun only had a few moments of shine.

But when I got to the track, fatigue started to take over a little. The first interval was a 2:31. I didn't know what pace that was? BE ran the 2nd and 3rd with me, then I was on my one. I held that pace pretty constant for all 10, ranging between 2:29 and 2:36.

Thing is, it just didn't feel fast! It felt sluggish, I didn't have that spinny feeling like I had a few sessions ago, where I felt like "if only my legs could turnover faster". I started having more fun as the intervals continued, I was enjoying them :)

I just checked McMillan, no 600 interval calculator for 600's. Nuts. But looking at last week's 1000 time of 4:05, it's not impressive! A 6:56 mile, a 50:05 10K, a 3:54 marathon! WORK MORE.

The ride was about half an hour later, I rode to work and did 3 loops in TGP at a pushed pace, then rode to work. I only got an hour done before work, and although I knew it could rain I secretly hoped I could get more riding in after work. Nope. Rain! DH have me a ride home. We left Puppy in his office, all night I'm gonna wonder if the bike is safe! It's not the 1:40 workout the plan called for, I'll just tack on the extra time in the weekend long ride.
