Matson Hill trail run and Katy ride

RUN 1:58 and 9.6 miles, trails!
BIKE 1:00 and 14.6 miles, Katy!

Finally got back to trails this weekend, I can't do it every time I have a long run but I will certainly look for this option to break up the monotony. It's disappointing to run 2 hours and see only 9.6 miles (I really wanted to run another 0.4!) but the heart rate changes, hills, and thinking required to stay upright change the game up for a long run. Besides, I got to run with TV, something I've missed!

To make the day work for both of us, we picked a site that I could bike afterwards. Puppy came along for a post-run ride, while TV kept running. Goal and goal!

I was tired after yesterday's long ride, but a lot of that was in my head. My pushed hydration and recovery meals kept me rolling through the afternoon and I think I did pretty good in terms of staying awake and having energy :)

One of my goals set last week was to start hitting the hours ratio in the training plan. Sometimes I go way too high on one sport, then way too low on another. I know every week will be different, that races and events will tip the balance, etc, but I just wanted to keep the numbers at least in mind. Here's the outcome, not too bad:
Swim: goal 3 hours, did 3:22 and 8100y
Bike: goal 7 hours, did 8:23 and 138.2 miles
Run: goal 5 hours, did 4:30 and 27.40 miles
Total of 16:15 hours, goal was 15-something. Again, not bad!

Next week is a recovery week heading into the Cutting Edge race. So Rest and Taper!
