Long Saturday Ride, head cleared by a run

BIKE 2:15 and 40 miles, 2x 11.2 miles
RUN 60 mins and 6.2 miles, treadmilled

The plan says this is the longest indoor ride yet. Long indeed! So long my little bike computer decided to take a rest in the 2nd interval, so I'm not entirely sure of the exact mileage. Close enough.

I got done with the ride and felt bonked. A bit dizzed, confused, clumsy, cold, and brainless. Food! I ate something and didn't feel much better. So I didn't think it a good idea at all to go for my run outdoors on the perfectly iced sidewalks. Slow or not, the risk of falling was pretty huge. Heck, I could barely walk up the steps. I think I need to start breaking out the sports foods for these long sessions.

I waited a bit, then went to the Y. Much as a dislike staring into treadmill buttons for an hour, this was better than not running! The goal was an aerobic finish to the bike ride so I didn't set any hills or intervals. I sped up and down as I felt like. It drug on... and on... and I needed some Bee encouragement to finish but I got it! And to my surprise, felt awesome afterwards! As if the run cleared the carbon off the spark plugs after the ride. Probably a runner's high. Ha, I'll take it!
