SWIM abt 55 mins and 2300y, MS of 3x400
BIKE aerobic building, 30 mins and 7 miles (evening ride on DH's bike, haha)
After a bad swim Friday, this felt good. I started off feeling long in the water and "slippery". I probably wasn't any different, but at least I felt good about it in my head. I have no misconceptions that I'm suddenly like Phelps or anything, I just felt good!
The goal was 3x400 as 65%, 75%, and 80+% and counting strokes. I've yet to use my new Tempo Trainer for stroke turn-over, these calculations might get me started?
#1 in 8:19, focused on counting strokes the outbound and on form on the return trip. I was consistently doing 12 right arm turnovers/11 left, so that means...23 strokes in 25y. Yikes. Also I'm still not pushing off the wall hard, that adds a stroke right?
#2 in 8:12, focused on a stronger pace that's not race-pace or too pushed. Still doing ~23 strokes, sometimes more.
#3 in 7:58, my goal was to get this one under 8 minutes without losing form and getting all out of breath. Goal!! Yay! Still was doing about ~23 strokes, still a light push off the wall.
While I'm here - a quick injury update, if you can even call it an injury, everything feels good.
