Theory on why Garmin errs in IL YMCA pool

SWIM 30 mins and 1250 yards
BIKE COMMUTE 9.4 miles

From the title, you can tell that I was really focused on the swim. Alternatively, you can instead conclude that I was making the most of some mental quiet time?

My theory, further supported by looking at a map once at work, is that the pool isn't aligned N-S or E-W, and instead aligns at an angle. Indeed it does -- it sits NW-SE. The only way to confirm this might be to find pools in and out of this compass alignment and see what happens.

My plan was a 30 min workout, I kinda did it. I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe it's the head cold I kinda had earlier this week? My throat is still a but rough and my sinuses are mildly annoying. This never really bloomed into a full cold. The cold meds were only needed for 2 days. To me that seems short. But still, I'm more tired than I expect to be.

As I finished my session, the woman mentioned a few posts ago (husband crashed on bike) joined to share my lane. Turns out, her hubs trains with TeresaT! He's Ernie Carr, I shoulda asked her name. Next time!

I chatted with TH yesterday (texted, really) about upcoming OWS opportunities. There's one in Makanda IL in June (too bad not Wakanda, we could be Black Panther in our wetsuits!) and then there's the Hudson IL CIOWS race I DNFd in 2014. She was more interested in Hudson, as it's a long drive for a 1 mile swim. But I realized this morning that if you bring a bike....it's not just a swim! Like I did in 2014. Except this time finish the swim. The Makanda swim is in Giant something State Park, hiking trails!!

Thinking like this....a sign that I'm finally getting back to normal?
