First 100 since CDA

BIKE: about 6hrs (just under actually) and 100.6 miles

This started off as a multi-distance group ride that split and split until it was just me, LC, and BG--the Calhoun group back at it for another try at 100. In a perfect world, I would have like to have done this fast. But it's not a perfect world, my friends are too much fun, and I love the social aspect of group rides. So I wouldn't have sped up just to keep to my own goals and then ride alone! Also this was LC's century ride, wouldn't miss it. And I had the perfect group to ride with--strong, fun, and always entertaining :) Gawd I love this stuff.

I loved it, I love the new faces, abilities, goals. The new roads, the gravel, the water stops, the hills, curves, dips, bumps...I miss this so much each winter!!

Once we split off for the century around mile 54 our pace picked up. It's easier to hold a faster pace when you know whose wheel is behind yours and that everyone knows the route. You just settle in for the ride, and the focus is on pedaling and not shepard-ing.

Nutrition was great until mile 95, at which time I started to fuzz over but didnt' want to take a gel in the last few mins of the ride. I figured once I got back to the truck and home, real food would be available and I wanted that instead. In a race, I wouldn't have done that!

Nothing else to complain about. Bike fit feels good, feet feel good, maybe only a little discomfort from the tri shorts. I think I need new ones that actually fit skin tight and not just kinda tight.

I need to do this again, and I need to do it faster. The whole ride under ABP conditions. Next weekend isn't perfect for that, but I might could get it to work. The next few (FEW!!!) weekends need to be planned out here soon.
