Indian Camp trails

RUN 16.3 miles in just a few mins over 3 hours.

And since I'm not diligent about stopping the Garmin when we pause, it's probably 3 hrs. We TV and I talked goals early in the run, I said at least 3 hours. He really stuck us to this, didn't want to go further.

This was an "excursion run" idea hatched at our Weds lunch. These are usually my favorite runs, where we drive extra to see something we wouldn't normally get to see. This wasn't terribly that far away, not like Buford or Berryman, but far enough. And although the trails were wonderfully smooth, well biked, wide, clean, and all over really nice, they're not that exciting given the drive. And we had to repeat and repeat again to get mileage.

So like I said the park is really nice! We left early and hoped to get done before the rain got heavy. I was feeling great after testing my new night-before meal of extra rice. I'm hoping that eating the night before means I can eat less the morning of, and save my stomach that heavy feeling I get in these long runs. I can say this worked today! I joked that I was a rice rocket.

I felt great, good energy, and of course mints! And half a powerbar, that was it. At 2:15 in when I asked if we would go longer than 3 and he said 'no' (he was getting bored with the repeating trails), I didn't eat another serve of powerbar like I normally would have. So even though I wanted to hit 20 miles by the time we hit 13 I was getting run down and disinterested.

ETA: Had aura in afternoon.

The rain was light and got steadier later, but we did get some pleasant light rain in run :)
