First run since sick, and Dr M appt

RUN! 57 mins and 6 miles

Yay! I'm running again! I didn't think I'd be able to complete 2 or 3 miles, but EW and I ran together and through chatting and encouragement made almost the whole loop.

Gorgeous morning, high 70's and calm, such a switch from last weekend. I was still feeling wiped out and weak so I really didn't expect more than a run to the hill and back. And of course my ribs were hurting. But as we got going, warmed up, and chatting, we just kept saying "let's keep going, we can always turn up ahead", and this worked great.

EW and I had great conversation about being judgmental, about "come as you are" (ironically a song I've heard on the radio 3 times this week including the drive to run today...but it's not going on the songlist just yet), about the church and open-mindedness, and more. She explains the religious stuff really well, it's important to her and she does great with it.

Later in the morning was the Dr M appt. He can feel muscle fiber where the infraspinatus should be but it's not "building up" as would be expected with a muscle being used. Could take a total of 18 months, or 9 more, before we can really say it won't recover. The good news is that if I keep working it those muscle fibers could again turn into a real muscle, that I'm relatively functional, that my breaking of ribs isn't really a bone frailty issue at least to him, and no other concerns.

The 'hole' in my back is apparently pretty obvious, LC and IT, coworkers, and Dr M have no troubles seeing it. I need a better arrangement of mirrors I guess.
