Saturday Brick

BIKE: 60 mins, 18 miles? Focused on fast turnover again, some big ring.
RUN: 50 mins, 4.4 miles of snowy trails in Castlewood.

OK so it wasn't the standard brick, there was 1hr in between. But it's still the first one of the year! It's also the first time I've included the short 3-4 mile Saturday run on the training plan. As part of my ramping up of miles, I've been skipping the Saturday and Monday runs, planning to gradually add them back in. I'll probably skip Monday next week or really shorten it to continue ramping slowly. If I run the planned 6-7 tomorrow, I'll be at the goal 30 miles for the rest week.

I loved the snowy run on the trails. I wouldn't mind doing that again. The trails were soft, bright, and surprisingly warm with the bluffs blocking the wind.

And yesterday's post. Was I on crack? It was late at night and I was tired, but seriously?!?! Swim 4x, Bike 3x, and Run 5x per week. No days off. And I'm going to pay myself to swim. Seriously?!?!

I have a blog rule of No Editing. So I can't change it now.

At the same time, I bought a Lara Bar today for tomorrow's swim. So I'm already looking forward to Sunday's swim. I suppose in the end I won't really get all those hours in and I'll miss workouts. I'll end up with days off or only 4x running.

Which means that my schedule should get priorities assigned to it. Next up: ranking the workouts.

Also next up, I need to decide if I'm going to do Triple -T, May 20-22nd.
Race #1: Friday super sprint 250y swim, 5mi bike, and 1mi run
Race #2: Saturday am oly 1.5km swim, 25km bike, and 10k run
Race #3: Saturday pm oly 25km bike, 1.5km swim and 10k run
Race #4: Sunday half 1.2mi swim, 56mi bike, and 13mi run

Distances approximated. Fatigue is not. Pain a certainty. But its 141 miles for only $225. 141 miles that is described my many as Harder Than Ironman. Why do I want to do it? Because as I sit here now, I'm not sure that I can finish it. And the thrill for me is in the challenge of just that.
