SWIM 20 mins and 800 yards. First time for a 500 free! Then I pulled the rest.
I thought the 500 free was a benchmark, so I just checked my list. I have a "500 non-stop" and a "20' mostly free". It's kinda both, but I'm going to mark the 500 non-stop as done. I really did keep it rolling. Didn't feel great, but I did it.
And I'm happy to say I did it, cuz for a few mins there at home I had silly thoughts of "you need a day off". Hahaha, you fail Blerch. But really, it's a 12 min drive there, time to shower and prep, 20 mins swim, another shower and another 12 mins. Over an hour (I take longer than needed HOT showers). My mind tries to skip these things as "too much time" or "do it on your way to work".
When I arrived at the pool, I caught sight of the moon. I sliver sliding towards New on Monday.
But I have new goals for February, and I wanted to stick the landing on these on the first day. Building on what I started in January, I have 8 written daily goals and 8 'bonus' goals. Today included swim, juice only pre-swim, potato treat if I swim, and a real M1 with my pre-made bowl. The bonuses were leave phone upstairs (it slows me down in morning) and no news in morning. I NAILED all but the juice goal. I ended up eating some carrot and orange instead, then nibbing on M1. Awesome!!
Later today goals are take out recycling and garbage before M3, eat pre-packed M3, take the doggie for a walk before M3, and B upstairs for M3. Again, this is more a streamlining of my evening so it's not slowed and lack luster. Would be nice to get stuff done! Like a stained glass project?
Other things. The left foot still "feels" and I'm wearing the Cascadias today and whether it's the foot or the shoes, I still feel it but less. Walking barefoot this morning not great. And my hip, every now and then in the last day or two will POW hurt in a sharp short lived pain? huh?
My theme this month is SO's "Sky Blue" comment from December. I had to look it up. I was saying that travel was "hard for me" (he wanted to buy my tix for a trip to Colorado!) and his reply was "Um... sky blue". Zing. It means a positive frame of mind. Zah-zing, indeed. So my bullet journal is sky blue theme, I'm looking for a sky blue gemstone pendant for my necklace to go along with my garnet.
And speaking of red, today is Wear Red day -- to increase awareness of heart health in women. I thought a lot about what to do about this. It seemed selfish to ask others to wear red, but seemed just as silly to ignore it. So a few days ago I texted Mom, sis, TB, TH, JG, EW and said pretty much "don't be me, learn the signs". Then this morning EW opened up with a great picture of her in a red suit, then JG in a scarf, then Mom's dog in a bandanna, and later TB and CM joined in!! Every picture was like a hug. Love you guys :)
I saw a few other instances of Wear Red in the hospital, one floor in Maternity was having a group photo. Some computers in BJC had it in the screensaver rotation. I'm 150 days out from the initial hospitalization!
Also 160 days of no M (HUGE goal for me, it's not a PR, but def a life change). And 1500 days out from the xmas 2014 when I put my foot down to make changes against M. It's been up/down since then over the years, but I swore 160 days ago that's it's over with that.
All those goal numbers, all in one day!! Feeling good today. Keep that ball rolling.
